Long-tailed Duck female non-breeding

This small fishing pond is in an agricultural area on the outskirts of the London Borough of Bromley so it is not an obvious habitat to find a Long-tailed Duck. The pond is some 10 miles from the River Thames in Central London and a further 60 or so miles down the river to the sea.
