I received a call from a friend to say that a pair of Mistle Thrushes had built a nest in a Silver Birch tree right outside a window of his house. On the first occasion that I visited to see them, the birds watched the nest from the opposite side of the road but did not sit on the nest. On the second occasion, one of the birds was sitting on the nest. It was obvious that the nest was exposed to a number of predators and after sitting for a few days, the birds deserted the nest.
