Northern Lapwing

Northern Lapwing

There were many large flocks of Northern Lapwing flying over the marshes today. It is a difficult bird to photograph in flight and this is the first time that I have managed to get a passable shot of this species. Northern Lapwing breeds on the marshes in the south-east of England and is a common bird in winter although numbers appear to be declining.
