Sightings
We had two sightings only of Pale-vented Pigeon both on Tobago, and on this occasions in trees in the grounds of the Blue Waters Inn.

Species
Pale-vented Pigeon Patagioenas cayennensis is a species of least concern with a stable population and a huge range in central and south America. There are seven subspecies of which P. c. tobagensis is found on both Trinidad and Tobago. It is common at forest edges, river banks and other partially open areas with some trees. It feeds mainly on small fruits, berries and seed.

Status and Distribution
It is a locally common resident on both Trinidad and Tobago but is more widespread on the latter island. It is a resident breeder from southern Mexico south to Bolivia and northern Argentina and on Tobago and Trinidad, although it is very localised on the latter island.
