Yellow-bellied Prinia Prinia flaviventris was one of the last birds we saw this day before it was time to leave the wetland areas and move on to our next destination. It was the only one of this species we saw on the tour and we were very lucky to get excellent views in good light when it displayed in a small patch of grass and reeds alongside the track.

The preferred habitat of Yellow-bellied Prinia is tall grassland or tamarisk along rivers, and near lakes and marshes. It tends to be solitary or perhaps with a few other birds in the same area. It has a wide distribution which includes the northern parts of the Indian subcontinent and south-east Asia including Thailand and Myanmar.
